Tweet this comment Cancel Submit Comment Subscribe to None Replies All new comments (Updated: Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.) Sumner Newscow report — A one-car accident involving two Belle Plaine teachers and a paraprofessional at the school district occurred Tuesday afternoon. The accident was at the intersection of 90th Avenue and Hoover St. while they were en route to a high school volleyball game.Brian and Jacie Seba.Jacob ManschParaprofessional Jacob Mansch and school psychologist Jacie Seba were seriously injured and currently hospitalized at Via Christi- St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Brian Seba, a Belle Plaine Elementary Physical Education instructor, was not seriously injured. According to Kristi Gales, a cousin of Brian, Jacie is currently on a ventilator and is still in the Intensive Care Unit. Mansch has lost his leg and is currently in ICU after surgery.Sumner County Sheriff investigators were called to the scene of the accident about 4 p.m. Brian Seba was driving a 2007 Chevy pickup westbound on East 90th Avenue about 13 miles east of Conway Springs, when it hit a cement guardrail.Scene of the accident was on 90th Ave. between Belle Plaine and Conway Springs.Mansch was a front seat passenger and Jacie Seba was in the backseat, according to media reports. Both were critically injured.Investigators said Jacie Seba was flown to a Wesley, while Mansch was transported by EMS. Brian Seba refused treatment. Mansch had to be extricated from the vehicle because it had received extensive damage.Traffic re-opened in the area shortly thereafter, but the crash remains under investigation.The Belle Plaine family held a vigil at the school Tuesday evening. Today, grief counselors are at the Belle Plaine schools. Mansch’s service dog, Angel, was also in the vehicle. She was unhurt.Follow us on Twitter.last_img
