Le Guin is among the finalists for a PEN America literary award.Le Guin, who died earlier this week at age 88, is a nominee for the best book of essays. She was cited for her collection “No Time to Spare: Thinking About What Matters.” Others up for awards include Ta-Nehisi Coates and Kevin Young for the best book of 2017 and Ron Chernow, author of “Grant,” for biography.PEN America also announced Thursday that for the first time all five nominees for best debut fiction are women. They include Emily Fridlund for “History of Wolves” and Carmen Maria Machado for “Her Body and Other Parties.”Winners will be announced Feb. 20.
